"The ability to ask or answer a question about a specific document, with that comment embedded right alongside it, has been spectacular. FileInvite was built around how loan servicing actually works day to day, and that's something I find genuinely unique."

Summary

Mark Abell has worked at banks with SBA divisions of more than 20 people. At PB&T Bank he is rebuilding the SBA program as its only dedicated lender. He uses FileInvite to collect and service loan documents alongside B:Side, which serves as his CDC of record for 504 loans and as his LSP. Since training, bankers who weren't sure how they would use FileInvite now log in and add requests for their own clients.

Challenge

Running SBA lending alone means relying on partners and tools that let information move easily between the internal team and outside partners. Loan servicing adds its own workload. Documents such as borrowing base certificates, quarterly and annual financials, and insurance certificates have to be collected again and again for the life of every loan. Mark needed a platform built around how that work actually happens, not one he would have to work around.

Action

Mark worked closely with FileInvite from the start. Soon after his first conversation, he met with FileInvite's development team to give feedback on a new recurring invites concept. He explained what a banker with hands-on servicing experience needs to gather and process. That input is now built into how recurring invites work. Through more working sessions, his feedback kept showing up in the product almost immediately. Gen 2 added two features he relies on. He can reassign who is responsible for specific checklist items as the work passes through a customer's team. He can also ask or answer a question about an individual document, with the comment attached right next to it.

"After our initial training, some bankers weren't sure how they'd use it. Now I have bankers logging in, adding requests directly to their own clients, and changing how they operate."
